A woman who lost her gold class ring 43 years ago has at last been reunited with it.Elizabeth Gable had been celebrating her graduation in June 1967 with classmates from the Park School of Buffalo by relaxing on the shores of Lake Erie Beach in Canada when she lost the gold band culinary arts in University-of-Alaska.According to Buffalo News, she had been taking a dip in the lake when she believes that the ring slipped off her finger and was lost in the water. At some point, the ring was found and brought to an address in Fort Erie, some ten minutes from the shore. When Barbara Sibbett purchased the property, she found that its previous owners had left boxes of belongings behind, including the gold ring. She put the signet band into her jewellery box, where it lay forgotten for almost a quarter of a century, before she gave it to her young granddaughter. It was the ten-year-old who spotted the set of initials engraved on the ring and Ms Sibbett took it to the school in the hope of tracking down its owner. On being reunited with her ring, Ms Gable said: “It was the first piece of real significant jewellery I’d ever gotten, then I lose it.”It was that feeling of, I just did something irrevocable.”Elsewhere, a woman from Rosenberg was recently reunited with her class ring 30 years after losing it, when it was found by a man in his garden.
