More often than not, the first thing that you see when approaching a new store or business is the logo. This is the main reason why having a good logo is so important for first impressions. If you don’t have a business logo that represents your company well, you will end up losing customers.
Not only do you need a logo that makes a good first impression, the logo also needs to be memorable. If a potential customers walks past your store, you want to be able to leave a lasting impression with them, without them even coming into the store. As long as it’s a good impression that is.
Whether you are designing logo yourself or you are looking to buy a new logo. There are some points you should keep in mind when buying or building new custom logo design.
Having a unique logo for your business is one of the most important factors. However this is becoming harder as more logos appear, making yours unique is not easy. However, simply having unique wording or font styles can help. After all, you want to avoid your business being confused with a competitor.
Making your logo appropriate to your business is also a highly important factor in logo design. If you have a great looking logo, but it doesn’t have anything to do with your company, it’s not a good logo. Once again this goes back to the first impression, if you have a logo that doesn’t match your business, your potential customers will forget about you.
The last thing to consider would be to make sure that the logo is simple. By making your logo as simple as possible, you are able to make changes to the size and colours relatively quickly and cheaply. It’s also important to have it simple as you don’t want to confuse your target market. If you end up confusing your customers with a complex picture as part of your logo, some may not understand your business.
Just look at some of the biggest companies and see how simple their logos are. Companies such as McDonalds and Nike, they have some of the simplest logos, but everyone knows what they sell.
If you’re planning to hire an external logo design company, make sure you are offered some logo samples to make sure you don’t get the wrong logo for your business.
